Default P0501

My 97 Honda Accord LX 4-Cyl sedan just popped code P0501, I see there is no movement in speedometer & odometer. I am guessing it is the speed sensor(VSS), there are so many different brands with price ranging from $10(Amazon)-$240(Honda OEM).
Not sure what is best brand/price(non OEM) that I can afford for a car with 268k miles. BTW, this is the first sensor failure on my 28 year old car which I purchased brand new.
Please advise.

Sensor itself may just be dirty.
There is a little spindle and disc inside the VSS that can get gummed up and prevent a proper signal.

If that link doesnt work or fully load use the wayback machine to find the page.

Thank you, MAD_MIKE.
I wish I waited for some more time for a reply. Since I was not sure if the OEM sensor was bad, I bought a cheap($10) sensor of Amazon and installed it. As of now, it is working fine, and speedometer & odometer are back to normal.
