Del sol d16y8 swap
Hey guys very new to this site and in need of some help
currently i have a 93 del sol s with a d16y8 swap, however the previous owner used the original engine harness and p06 ecm and a d15 intake as well as a d15 non vtec distributor, im looking to get vtec working and the engine running smoothly not too sure how to go about this I've heard I can use the original harness dizzy and ecu but id have to use a jumper harness, but id like to retain the mph and rpm functionality, how would I go about this?

Does the current distributor on the Y8 engine bolt in with all three bolts ? If so, you can use this distributor... changing to the Y8 distributor makes no difference. You can use a P28 ECU and either a complete Z6 or Y8 intake manifold. If the original Del Sol wiring harness doesn't have the VTEC solenoid and Pressure Switch plugs, you will have to add them. Do you know the original trim level of the Del Sol ?
The current dizzy is a non vtec d15 distributor it fits all three bolts but as i stated non vtec so no plug fior the solenoid not sure how i would wire vtec to it, the car is a 93 del sol s so if I want it to have vtec im going to have to run the wires myself, currently just trying to figure out which dizzy to go with in the y8, seeing as how my harness is obd1 and the y8 is for obd2
