Radiator fan won’t stop running
Have a 1997 Honda Accord Se my radiator fan stays on after turn off the ignition completely and take the keys out it’s not after cooling because once the ignition is off the fan would turn off also I changed the front fan switch and the coolant temperature sensor and it’s the same result i have to unplug the fan switch for it to stop, can someone help me to see what possibly could be the problem please
I have never owned one of these before. My brothers wife did and the fan would run for a few minutes after turning off the ignition and shut off a few minutes later. My civics never did that I thought it was odd but it would shut off, I thought it was an accord feature.
The fan can run up to about 15mins after engine shutdown if the temp is above 220°F/100°C
If it stays running longer then the Fan relays may be stuck ON.
The main fan relay is in the under hood fuse box. AC condenser fan relay is to the right of the radiator, there will be two. One is the A/C clutch the other is for the Condenser fan.
Are one of both fans running?
Also the condenser fan will automatically turn on if you have the A/C button depressed.
