Could you specify on CVT fluid level check. Are the below correct? ( I cannot find exact info) 1. CVT must be warmed up to working temp (so I believe the car must be driven for some time). 2. The inspection is made with running engine, on N gear. 3. Unscrew check bolt. The fluid must drip or run slowly (on running engine).
4. In case I need to add fluid should I turn off the engine or can I add it not stopping the engine?
I heard that CVT fluid level drops on running engine. It was said it is the reason for checking fluid level on running engine. I drive CR-V 2,4 2018 CVT 4WD.
Do you have signs of a fluid leak or transmission related drivability issue?
the official procedure is "...don't"
Most CVTs I've serviced that don't have a dipstick are checked and filled from the check port at operating temp, engine running, in neutral. Though none of those were Hondas, and sometimes they are weird.
maybe someone else here will know the dealer procedure off-hand

Thank you! And thank you for taking the trouble of going to Honda's manual to check the procedure! Unfortunatelly it gives nothing usseful (I checked that before myself too).
Though exact Honda's procedure would be better to know.
No, no leakage, no issues. I just want to know what and how should be done in my Honda. E.g. I service the breaks myself (calipers and pads).

Reason: added some more thanks
So what do you think the dealer does to check and replace the CVT fluid that an owner cant do. Anyone have the info from the FSM?
late-model CVTs I have serviced from other manufacturers have similar procedures for this so I would guess Honda follows something along these lines: [paraphrasing]
"connect a scan tool to monitor trans temp sensor, run engine until temp X for trans fluid is reached. remove service plug from side of transmission with engine still running. small drip or fluid level with plug hole is correct amount. if low add more of this super-specific type of fluid with a pump or super long hose because there is nowhere to put a funnel"
The second gen Insight was more like a regular automatic just required special fluid. but with the verbiage in the CR-V owners manual that is obviously not the case here.
