So, I got a 1989 Honda CRX, d15b2 engine, dpfi injectors and whatnot. It's been sitting for close to 20 years, and there is noticeable rust, wear and tear, seats are all kinds of torn up, etc. I charged up a battery and put it in and low and behold, the headlights and rear lights worked, so I think "most" of the wires are salvageable. And (to be expected) when I went to crank it, wouldn't even make a sound. So my question is, where do I even begin with this project? I heard a couple people say change the fuel pump, take out the engine and take it apart, etc. I am on a limited budget, I just need to know where I even need to start with this car, seeing as how it's been sitting for almost 20 years. (and also, I think a good amount of the fuse's are missing, unable to take a picture currently)
After sitting for that long I would highly recommend you inspect the fuel pump and sending unit. At the very least check the fuel lines. Hope the tank was empty. Have you checked to see if the engine isn’t seized?
