Distributor wiring harness question
So I bought a 99sh that has a euro r engine swap they went from obd2 to 1 distributor but I want to change it back to obd2 does anyone have a detailed diagram or any advice would be so incredibly helpful
Also was told that the td89u dizzy is the one that works and it's obd2 only having 1 plug only problem being the previous dizzy was straight wired so no female clip from the harness which is why i want to switch and need to know color matches from harness to dizzy
Unfortunately, in the case of the H22 engine, changing from OBD-1 to OBD-2 style distributors (or the other way) isn't as simple as a conversion/adapter/jumper harness. OBD-1 style distributors have the TDC, CKP, and CYP sensors all inside the distributor housing... on the OBD-2 style distributors, only ONE of these three sensors is found inside the distributor housing and the other two are found at the crankshaft and use both the crank gear and the balance shaft drive gear to trigger these sensors. This means that changing from OBD-1 to OBD-2 style distributors on the H22 may require a distributor change, an oil pump change, a crank gear change, a balance shaft drive gear change, adding the sensor pair at the crank, and a lower timing cover change... not to mention properly connecting the appropriate wiring.
You need to know how the wiring is set up in your engine bay first before you start making this change. Posting a pic of the wiring right at the distributor as well as a pic of the wiring plug found down along the left rear edge of the engine close to the crank pulley.
The biggest difference between USDM and JDM distributors for the H22 are that USDM distributors have external coil assemblies whereas, the JDM distributors have internal coils just like Civics and Integras.

then also as far as i understand to switch from external to internal is just putting a 30amp fuse in the plug going to the external coil which is supposed to basically reroute it back to the internal coil
