2011 TSX, Burns Oil, 197k – Buy or Run?
Hi Honda people, looking at finding a new 'cheap' daily.
Someone local has a K24 2011 TSX Wagon. Seems very clean overall.
It's got 197k on the clock, and the seller states it doesn't really have issues, besides burning a quart every thousand miles.
This seems like pretty normal Honda behavior, from what I've heard, but I don't want to buy something that's going to need an immediate rebuild.
I kinda don't care about adding oil every so often. Oil is pretty cheap.
But as far as the car itself goes, any pitfalls to watch for? Trans, other quirks with this Y/M/M? Thanks a million.

My wife's K24A3 has 415k km on it and has been eating 0.3L every 1000 km for the past 130k kilometers (practically since she has it)... it doesn't go worse nor better. As long as you keep the oil filled up it should work. I also had a 1998 Civic that had been eating 0.7L of oil every 1000 km. It had been doing it for the past 200k kilometers until I eventually sold it cause I wanted Accord (TSX model in the US for the reference). Some Hondas like eating oil but as long as it runs it's not really a problem imo.
