2024 Honda Accord Multiple Lights After Curb Incident
Howdy, My 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid Sport is flashing multiple codes after a minor incident with a curb.
The codes are as follows
ABS
-c0051-62 Steering angle sensor failure
-c1000-94 ABS/VSC - Activation time too long
EPS
-u0416-68 Vehicle safety assist malfunction - brake actuator malfunction
-u1483-68 Lane keep assist system malfunction - activation time too long
-c0037-62 Left rear wheel speed signal error
-c003a-62 right rear wheel speed signal error
The car was originally taken to the Honda dealership to get engine and suspension diagnostics done, they quoted 950$ to replace a front wheel bearing and hub to start, may need further repairs... I decided to go with another shop to do a free diagnostic after i paid the dealership almost 500$ to barely look into the problem and the smaller shop recommended i replace the driver-side lower ball joint first and then get an alignment but that shop doesn't do alignments so they recommended another shop to do so. I knew i would need an alignment after the incident because the steering wheel needs to be held more left to go straight and the car veers off to the right when not held, but i figured the other work needed to be done first before an alignment. I'm most likely wrong, but at first, i thought an alignment would be the only thing i needed and the car was flashing codes because its new and any minor thing would make the car freak out, but looking more into it, it does seem like there is an underlying issue with the vehicle. The smaller shop said it could be a bent frame but I wasn't going fast enough and i could barely feel the curb at the time of the incident so i doubt the frame is bent. The car will still drive and the codes will turn off and on at random times but more likely to turn on when im making a right lane change or the road has a slight right curve to it. ive checked myself and the wheel doesn't rub on anything in full range of motion but when slighty turning to the right the car stutters the VSA light like i lost traction to the road but it feels like the brake pedal is stuttering as well. i haven't checked the brakes myself but when checked by the smaller shop they said the brakes were fine. I do have to drive the car sometimes but i have been driving my family's car as much as possible. the problem or problems haven't gotten any worse over the past week or so, I'll be getting an alignment tomorrow morning and seeing what else the car could need after the alignment. i wanted to make this post to see if anyone else has had a similar problem or has any insight to these problems. I could post pictures but I don't think it would help as far as assuming why the car is flashing these codes, the wheels aren't bent in or out and the alignment is obviously what the main problem is.
TLDR Curbed my car, steering angle, ABS/VSA, LKAS, Brake system lights on and the car is veering to the right but the steering wheel must be turned more to the left to keep the car straight.
