1996 wagon auto transmission fit in a 1994 lx?
I have a 1994 Honda accord lx and found a great deal on a 1996 accord wagon transmission. Would it fit considering the 96 is obd2 and mines obd1? Any help would be appreciated
It shouldn't be an issue. The only thing electronic in the trans that MAY be different is the VSS plug (but it should be the same). All the other stuff (kickdown cable, shifter cable, shift solenoids, etc) is the same.
Just an FYI, the wagon transmission has a slightly higher final drive than the coupe/sedan transmissions. So you may notice your cruising RPM just a bit higher than before. The car should accelerate a bit better as well. The wagons had the higher final drive to help with acceleration since they weighted about 300lb heavier.
