I know it's been done. Found a zc sohc engine, it's a d16y8, looking to use the block from zc and head from the y8, would it be easier to use block and head from zc? I'm reading it's non vtec, but the y8 is vtec. Feels like that might be me trouble than it's worth. But ive read the zc block y8 head "mini me"But the threads have links that are not available. What is the big issues you run into. I have a head gasket kit for the y8 that I will use when I swap but what else do I need to worry about here.... I read that it will bolt up to it. But use the intake from the y8? Could really use some pointers, fairly new to the game but was a deal i couldn't pass up..... 400 bucks, original owner... mi 272k

Reason: More information
I would use everything from the head gasket UP for the Y8 swap. This means the complete cylinder head, Y8 head bolts, distributor, cam gear, timing belt, complete intake manifold, and Y8 head gasket.
Big question is which "ZC" since Honda japan used it across a variety of different 1.6 engines over many years, sohc & dohc, with different bore over the years.
