How to hammer in rear main seal properly?
I installed a rear main seal in my '01 Civic EX but it now leaks. I've torn the car open to try it again. When I installed it I had to fight with it to go in flat--which it initially did not. I used a mini screwdriver or a pick to fine tune position once it was in...seems like I overdrove it then pulled it flush with the surface. I also was unsure about the inner lip, whether it should get rolled outward or inward. Whatever I did was wrong.
I've read that improper installation of a rear main seal is common, ie easy to mess up. Can someone write out in excrutiating detail how to do it right?
