1994 Civic EX Sedan 200k Kilometers: D16a9 DOHC Non vtec.

Symptoms: Idle's low, almost dies when revved and RPM's drop back to "normal," does die when revved and using power steering, poor gas mileage, white smoke from tailpipe that smells of gas, carbon on tailpipe, almost imperceptible misfires on cold start.

Car is OBD 0, No loss of power, valves are spotless, regular maintenance, can't find air leak, IACV when unplugged nothing changes, new fuel injectors, new sparkplugs cables, car has no mods apart from headers and exhaust.

I say it's a leaking head gasket but every mechanic I go to tells me it can't be since it smells of gas.

Need some opinions as I'm going to just change the head gasket to see unless someone can guide me otherwise.
