Ignition issues.
Hey all. I have a 93 del sol with the D15 1.5, Manual trans.
Rrecently I've been having issues with the ignition. Pretty sure it's got a bad connection in the switch. Now up until now I've been managing it, as all I really have to do is make sure to turn the key back a little bit after starting to keep it running (the ON position is where the bad connection is I think. If I start the car and just let go of the key without jiggling it backwards, it dies)
Now I plan to replace this as soon as I can but money is tight right now so I've been dealing with it.
However a new issue is occuring. Lately whenever the car sits for a day or two, I'll go to start it and the battery is too low to start. I have to jump it. Combined with the fact the door chime is on when the door is open, even with the key out of the cylinder, I'm suspecting that my ignition is the cause of this too. Causing a parasitic draw. I know the battery is good and when it's disconnected it holds its charge just fine.
Now a full ignition for this car is around 150 bucks. Which is a lot for me currently.
So before I bite that bullet and parts cannon it, I wanted to get y'all's opinions. Do you think my diagnosis is correct and the faulty ignition switch is what is causing my battery drain?
Because I've had the car a little over a year and the battery issue only JUST started as the ignition switch started getting more finicky.
As well, if it IS the ignition, is a new one the only way to go, or can I fix this one? I've got electrical knowhow and I know how to solder quite well. So if it is repairable I can do it I'm sure. And being right on money is prefer this route if it's possible.
Thanks in advance.

I can’t seem to remember where I got my ignition from, but I think I found it locally at a parts store for like $50. I recommend doing it pretty soon because eventually you’ll hit a bump and it’ll just shut off on you. And I guess it’s possible that the cylinder is staying in the “on” position just enough to cause a parasitic draw. Or it’s just a coincidence and your battery is smoked. Most parts stores will do a battery test for free. Couldn’t hurt to have the battery tested.
