2005 CRV power steering issue…
So in 2017 I was driving through a parking lot, after making a turn I heard a “SNAP” sound as if a rubber band had snapped and like a jerk feel to the steering wheel. As soon as I heard that I felt the loss of power steering and the steering got heavy.
Been dealing with it since but just trying to trouble shoot it and fix it now. Don’t see any leaks on the rack. Haven’t flushed out the system. Looking at the pump itself, I don’t see any leaks just like maybe the hose it’s a little wet from age?
any seals inside the rack that would have gone bad?
I was thinking about just hitting up the junkyard and swapping it in to see if that would fix the issue.

No fluid loss. The hose that goes from the bottom of the reservoir to where it meets the front of the pump is a bit damp but I’m sure that’s from being old and it’s not leaking.
next step is go to the yard and pull a pump, rebuild and swap.
