MFactory gear sets on d series
I'm in the middle of replacing my input shaft bearing on my NA 95 civic ex that i plan to turbo one day to like 300hp max nothing crazy and id like to keep it a fun daily driver. I have an MFactory LSD and carbon synchros to install as well.
then i saw these other gear set options on MFactory for the d-series:
1.565 3rd gear
1.320 4th gear
1.00 5th gear
4.5, 4.7 or 4.9 final drive
my current gear ratios are:
EX
1st-----3.250
2nd-----1.900
3rd-----1.250
4th-----0.909
5th-----0.702
FD-----4.250
QUESTION is, knowing that i want to do light turbo daily driver this car, would i get any extra fun while not destroying gas mileage or daily drivability by getting those MFactory gear sets or a certain combination of them to replace my stock gear sets?

The shorter (bigger number) your gear ratios are, the faster the car will accelerate. Even with your current final drive ratio (4.25:1), the new gear set will turn 30% higher engine RPM at any given highway speed, and if you add a shorter final drive (bigger number) with it, the engine speeds at highway speeds will be even higher. This will affect fuel economy. At 300 wheel HP... I would just install the LSD and synchros.
