So I have sent my car to the dealer for diagnostic for a weird sputtering issue I thought it was a valve adjust needed as they replaced the valve cover, replaced spark plugs and did a oil change and radiator fluid change. A month later I drove it for maybe 10 minutes and stopped at a red light sitting in drive at idle it made the weird sputtering. I went to the dealer for diag and they claim they can’t hear it. I sent them a video of the noise and they don’t hear anything. Today I pulled the MAF sensor off and spray cleaned it with MAF cleaner and I cleaned the Throttle Body from the front of it and let it dry for an hour while I restored my headlight. After doing so I put it all back together and started the car and it stalled. I tried again and it chuckled to life, I let it idle for 5 minutes and it idled way smoother holding 850rpm. I drove it for 5 minutes and stopped at a few stops signs in the neighborhood and all was good until I got home. I went to put it in reverse but before shifting it was doing it again. I’m at my wits end with this any clue as to what it may be will help me a lot!

 

I should add that it sounds more like a knocking if I can post a 8 second video somehow it’d be easier to explain
