Default feedback on ACT streetdisc clutch and Xtreme Pressure Plate

clutchmaster had a booth at sema and was suggesting that their cluthes were better and ACT clutches caused crank walk on prelude motors.. well i've had the same act clutch and pressure plate.. through my h22a.. crank walked about 3 inches after i was done with it.. and now my h23a block is feeling the same.. i can feel a grinding in the clutch pedal.. but it still runs.. i think the pressure plate is just too rough for the motor and its destroying it.. anyone else had the same problems? i'm sending my pressure plate back to ACT to get tested.. they never heard of the problem

I have that setup in my 97 Prelude and no issues so far. I've had it since March of 2001.

I have the ceramic race one in my car and it's held up to the season of harsh launches and power shifts.. So far no complaints except under the very last day of test when it started slipping.

Actually it's not difficult launching with a street disc. Once you get used to the pedal pressure, it's no different than OEM clutches.

XTSS combo is great! I highly recommend it. Its a bit stiff but you get used to it.

y do you feel you need such a stiff preassure plate
i bet the heavy duty one is fine and will be better for draggin on a regular lude
its hard to slip a xtreme plate
my friend has 1 and he wishes he got a heavy duty cuz its hard for him to slip it now

Heavy duty holds something like 276 torque and xtreme 386 torque. 276 is too close for comfort for me once I sleeve the block. And I have no problems feathering the clutch at all. Absolutely no harsh engagement. Your friend have a 5th gen? It's an ha3-xtss kit right?

i'd rather a pressure plate and clutch to be more of an on/off setup..
i see no problems in this clutch/pressure plate aside from it destroying motors.. and on my next motor i'll seek a different clutch/pressure plate assembly.. might just be a defective pressure plate.. i'm not sure
