First time doing most of this. I had to replace the rear main seal, a ball joint, and a tie rod. From there I ended up installing a new manual clutch, then rebuilt the transmission, then the engine, and finally pulled everything but the brake lines and ac and just redid the entire engine bay. I'm a novice mechanic who took one engine repair class at my local community college. This was possibly the most challenging thing I've ever done. Engine bay is back together. Everything runs although I had to chase a vacuum leak (left the crankcase ventilation hose unattached, and the idle air control valve failed electrically) and I'm getting used to new sounds. I drove it to the dealership today for an alignment. It drives great with the new suspension parts. The idle is still finding itself (sticks high when clutch pedal is pressed, drops to 550 at red lights). The whole process had a comical ending shown in the last image below, which I really have no idea how that happened but will probably need a new clock spring. I survived!
