2005 CR-V EX.with about 150k miles. I'm replacing the brushes on my starter motor. What is the best grease and lubrication for the planetary gears, and for other areas of the motor, such as the armature shaft?

As many know, taking out the starter on a Gen2 CR-V (and likely others) is a real pain. After all the work of taking it out, (which I just did in 12 degree weather with no garage) I'm still debating whether to just replace the brushes for $20 or minimize my risk by popping for the $145 reman Denso starter at RockAuto.com. Opinions on that choice?
