Hi all I have a 07 civic si. about 2 years ago I had my clutch changed. exedra stage 2 with lightweight flywheel. about 2 months ago I started hearing a grinding noise only when releasing clutch pedal in first gear. now its doing it when in reverse and releasing clutch pedal. also when I'm cursing at a constant speed and I try to speed up car idles but does not go faster then idle drops and car starts speeding up. I have np issues shifting.

 

Can you elaborate on the grind?

also, 22 months is a big gap to blame it on the replacement. weeks to a couple months makes sense... 22 months??? I'd take it to a mechanic. They've probably dealt with this issue before. plus, they can fill in the gaps of your explanation by test driving themselves.
