Hello, I’m interested in buying a 1997 Civic (4-door) with a B18 engine and a 2-wheel-drive gearbox. When I started the car, the engine idled smoothly and wasn’t shaking, but the car itself was shaking a lot—it felt like the car was “separate” from the engine!



I took it for a short drive, and while the idle remained smooth, the shaking didn’t go away. I really like the car, but I can’t use it as a daily driver with this issue.



Is this something small or common and easy to fix, or could it be a bigger problem? I’d appreciate your advice.

 

I would walk away from that ordeal. Sounds like the owner wants to off load his headache and trash onto the next person

 

What kind of engine mounts are being used? And are they in good shape? Are ALL the mounts installed?
