Default Gauge Cluster Not Working

Hey, I have a 91 EF hatch Std, and i’ve got a tach cluster from supposedly a 90 EF hatch from the Ad. I’ve tried looking up what car the tach cluster is from but i get multiple answer and pictures. I know i can use either a 90-91 cluster.

Also when install the tach cluster it does not read RPMs, door ajar light, seatbeat light, handbrake light, oil or CEL. but my turn signals and high beams work.
If anyone could give me an insight on what the cluster is from, if it’s compatible with the 91 EF and how troubleshoot to get the cluster working as normal.

Default Re: Gauge Cluster Not Working

If it physically fits in your 91 then it is either a 90 or a 91 because the 88 and 89 clusters are a different shape. Did you test the bulbs one or more of them could be burnt out. I'm guessing that your previous cluster did not have a tach? It show MPH so I would say that proves its a USDM cluster not from Canada or Europe. With so many functions not working perhaps it is an issue with the ground connection. Good luck.
