2000 HX, No power to some option plugs in fuse box
Just bought a 2000 HX Coupe and noticed on the way home the cigarette lighter didn't work. I've read through the dozens of cigarette lighter threads.
- Fuse 27 is good
- The lighter plug and the ash tray light themselves work when tested with another 12V power source.
- I tested continuity from the fuse box to the lighter/ash tray light harness - the ground, ash tray light, and lighter wires are all good. The ground is connected to a nut behind the steering column and is good.
The ash tray light plugs into option port 2 on this diagram, and the cigarette lighter plugs into port 3. I copied this diagram from another post so just ignore the highlighting on the legend.
Port 2 is supposedly dash lights, but the dash lights do work (other than the ash tray light). Port 3 is labeled accessory. I guess those make sense and are probably the right plugs, but neither ever has power. I've ended up plugging in the cigarette lighter to port 1 which does have +12V (all the time), so at least I can charge my phone. I'm not sure what "+B" means, and I'd rather have this wired up correctly.
Does anyone know why those 2 ports might not be getting power? Or have a more in depth wiring diagram to be able to follow those circuits all the way to the car battery?

You likely have a burnt fuse. Either check the correct fuse or use a multimeter to confirm
Went out to just check every fuse with the multimeter and found 28 burned. That's supposed to be the radio which always worked, but anyways I swapped it out it all works now thanks

I’m gonna take a wild guess and assume that you have an aftermarket head unit. The likely culprit for the burnt fuse is the ORANGE ILLUMINATION wire is not properly taped off and made contact with metal. People tend to forget it’s 12VDC when lights are turned on.
