My brother is trying to get his car up and running, it had a viper alarm but was removed by him after some time after it ran well but died shortly after driving around the block. He replaced the distributor, plug wires, plugs. The distributor gets power, but it seems like a lockout from the original alarm.
I looked at a diagram and it shows a red wire that’s supposed to connect to the black and yellow, but he says it’s part of the original alarm system. I’m trying to help, but I won’t touch it.
In my opinion, the right thing to do here is grab a replacement dash harness from a scrap yard. save all that effort trying to figure out what's wrong or disconnected and put that into pulling the dash. looks like he's half way there from the photo.
but if for some reason that's not an option, get a hold of the factory service manual and go wire by wire putting it back to how it should be.
