Default K24 ep3 or rsx type s

Hello all,

im trying to decide between the two and the advantages and disadvantages. I see a lot of posts that do compare with the stock motor but i would like to know if the k24 in the ep3 would make it superior in handling and speed to the rsx type s. I will end up adding a turbo kit with the occasional track visit and maybe down the road awd.

The EP3 is slightly lighter than the RSX-S chassis... but answering your question requires more information than you have provided. The EP3 comes stock with a 5-Speed transmission whereas, the Type S comes with a 6-Speed close ratio performance gear set. If all that you change is the engine (installing a K24 in each chassis), the Type S will likely be faster even though it will be slightly heavier because of the transmission. The engine has NOTHING to do with the handling of the car. Brakes will be superior on the Type S compared to the '02-03 EP3, however, the '04-05 EP3 a better brake package which offers nearly the same performance as the Type S brakes.
