Help with intermittent lights on my car's keyless system
Hi guys! I wanted to bring up an issue I encountered today that’s driving me crazy.
Yesterday, I was tinkering with installing a keyless locking system in the car. After quite a few hours identifying the necessary wires, I managed to power up the unit, activate and deactivate the door actuators, and flash the lights.
The last part is the problem: yesterday it worked perfectly, but today only the right side works.
Two brown wires come out of the unit, which connect to the wires in the connector.
The brown wires are not connected on this picture. The copper exposed is where I connect the brown wires from the unit.
The one on the right (green/orange) is the one that’s not working (left-side lights), and the one on the left (green/yellow) is the one that’s working (right-side lights).
The one that works gives me continuity with the car off, while the right one does not. However, if I turn on the car, the one that works still gives me continuity, and the one that doesn’t work starts giving continuity and also activates the car’s relay for the turn signals (without actually activating them). Also, the 2 brown wires from the keyless unit give me 12v each when I use the controller of the keyless system.
On top of that, if I use the turn signals or the hazard lights, both sides work perfectly, and as I said, yesterday it worked fine with the keyless system, so I don't have a clue of what's the problem.
