Default Clutch sinking to the floor

Greetings everyone I have a 2004 Accord 5 speed with the 2.4 l engine. Couple days ago, I was leaving for work, and I started my car put it in reverse and the car started to vibrate and would not move. When it was vibrating, I was unable to move the car out of the reverse gear while it was running. I shut the car off then I was able to put it in neutral and rolled the car back into my parking space. The next day I noticed that the clutch pedal was all the way to the floor. I picked up the clutch pedal and I started the car and drove it for a mile or so and it was fine. Due to what happened the night before I took it to a mechanic to have it looked at. I have a 40 mile commute each way and I don't want to have any problems. I drove the car to the mechanic he looked at it and quoted a total clutch job which was a lot more than I anticipated. I told him I was not ready to do that I picked the car up. The car was at the shop maybe 3-4 hours. I picked up the car drove out the parking lot and the clutch pedal sank again when I stopped before turning out the parking lot, and the shifter was unable to move again. I shut the car off picked up the clutch pedal and I was able to drive it home. Now I was quoted $2,000 for a clutch job, with pilot bearings and a pressure plate etc. When I dropped the car off, I was thinking it was the clutch master cylinder. I am not noticing any slipping while driving the car. On Friday I had to put the car back in 2nd gear twice while driving. My question is due to what I am explaining does that sound like it needs a complete clutch job, or could it be something else hopefully cheaper. The car has 149k miles and I had a complete clutch job done at 117k miles about 3 years ago.
