Own A 1995 Honda Civic LX Sedan

Car was running fine, then while driving it died out. car would start right back up and run.
It did it a few times over the course of about a week or two. but would happen randomly, it would die out then start right up and run fine until the next episode.
then finally died out and won’t start back up.
It will crank but won’t turn over.

replaced:
alternator
fuel pump
main relay
reset ECU

still nothing.

 

maybe we should look more into the ignition of things, such as:

distributor cap/rotor
spark plugs & wires

im not an expert, this is just my opinion.

sounds like distributor (ignitor, button, or cap itself). How old are the spark plug wires?

 

update:
so far replaced.
alternator
fuel pump
main relay
ignition switch
and spark plugs

got the car started today and drove it for a bit and after a few minutes it stalled, started back up and drove it back home.
started the car again and it shut off at idle and now will crank but won’t turn over.

 

did you also replace the spark plug wires? what about the distributor cap/rotor

 

haven’t gotten around to changing those yet, gonna take a look at it after work.

 

i just did a distributor cap/rotor replacement today. this is a very simple procedure, but be careful breaking any screws if they are rusty (like i did..)
