Just got a 00 GSR head for my 96 B20B and i was wondering what else i need. i want to run my stock bottom end before i build it. i have 96 ek hatch

Currently have
- Golden Eagle Conversion kit
- ARP head studs
- ACL Oil pump
- OEM Gsr water pump
​​​​- Gates Timing belt

What ECU do i need for this to run other then hondata?

yup i’ve read this thread already. i think i might just have to mess with my button end. i really didn’t want to take the motor out my car but it’s worth doing it the tried and true way

Nope. You have added 11% more displacement and the computer has no idea that you installed a B20 shortblock under the GSR head. Could you crank it up and let the engine idle with a GSR ECU... sure. Should you do any WOT pulls with the GSR ECU plugged in... the engine will be really lean, so proceed at your own risk.

 

okay good info. i wasnt planning on running it like that. getting tuned on hondata

 

If you are getting tuned on Hondata, why are you asking about using a stock ECU ?
