Took off the water pump, curious how to tell it is out. No leaks, the impellar blades are fine and spins ok.

 

chances are that its good. BUTTTT with it being such a pain to get to, just replace it with a new one. I know what your thinking "why change it, its good" because after you put on the timing belt, belt cover, alternator, power steering belts, put the engine back into the right spot to line up the motor mount etc etc, and drive the car about 10k miles. Thats when the water pump bearing will start chirping. Guess what you will get to do AGAIN. dont ask me how I know. Still mad at myself
