Default No coolant system pressure/coolant loss with no leaks

Got a weird one. D15b7 179k on motor. Coolant loss with no leaks. replaced radiator as it had some noticeable leaks. White exhaust smoke in cold starts but it’s got a 3 in exhaust muffler and can notice a lot of condensation in morning cold starts. Once it warms up its nowhere near as bad.

did a compression test
cylinder 1-175
cylinder 2- 175
cylinder 3- 175
cylinder 4-195

we pressure tested the coolant system and couldnt get an adapter to fit but if we held it down it would hold 1 bar. We held it for 30 seconds no pressure loss and no leaks.

just a little confused and wanted to be pointed in the right direction. Thinking it’s just a cap issue but want some ideas

Also like to note the pistons did have carbon buildup so it doesn’t seem coolant is entering the combustion chamber
