Default Does the ECU Store HVAC Codes?

I have a 2008 Civic SI with a Kraftswerks surpercharger that has an intermittant shutdown of the A/C compressor system. I THINK that I've narrowed it down to an over pressure shutdown due to the extra heat generated by the intercooler. Can a Honda dealer with the Honda scan tools pull codes or logs from the ECU that show HVAC events?
Thanks

2008 should be CANBUS...

The HDS that the dealer uses should be capable of looking at HVAC codes. But there are plenty of bi-directional scanners on the market that can do this too. I paid around $200 for mine and have used it a few times to find HVAC fault codes and run diagnostic tests. not sure what your local dealer charges, but I bet picking up a scanner for yourself is more cost effective in the long run.

Thanks for the info. Doing it myself is much more my style but I didn't know where to start with buying a scanner. Would you mind pointing me in the direction of what you bought to save me some research? Brand and model would be very helpful.

Thanks

I went with the Foxwell NT510 Elite. I wanted physical buttons- not a touch screen, compact size, and didn't need the bluetooth/wireless feature, which tends to add to the cost. That was a few years ago and I think there are some new models that improve on the 510 for about the same price, like the NT650 Elite.

I have a more basic code reader from Autel, but I have heard other people recommend their bi-directional scanners as a good budget option for home use.

I hear a lot about Launch brand diagnostic tools, but I'm not really up to speed on them.
