1997 Civic with burning smell from engine only with A/C on
My 1997 Civic has this constant burning rubber type smell only when the A/C is on. Can not seem to find where it's coming from, anybody else ever had this before?
My first guess would be that the compressor belt was slipping and burning rubber. Check tension and belt condition.
Could be from oil getting onto your exhaust if you have a leak, I had the same issue. And I had a decent oil leak that was getting onto the exhaust and after driving a while it would burn it up and I could smell it. But I found it helped if I kept the airflow circulation on internal.
