2015 Honda Accord LX (2.4 4-cyl) won't start first time, then starts fine
How would I go about methodically finding the cause of my ignition problem? Is there a ignition diagnostic procedure I can follow?
The battery is fresh. When I turn the key cold, it sometimes doesn't start - I get a single quiet click--no crank, no indiciation of any electrical problem. I get no special lights and nothing else out of the ordinary. Then I turn the car off and try again and it starts right up no problem. Thereafter, everything is fine when I stop, pause, and restart the engine repeatedly; it starts every time.
Then this whole process repeats the next time I go to drive the car. Turn, no start; turn, starts perfectly fine. Sometimes the second or even third try fails the same as the first, but then the next try starts perfectly.
From cold, if I go 15 seconds in ON, then try to start, and it starts right up the first time.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I had a similar problem on my 2013 and it turned out to be the starter (one of the starter solenoid contacts wore out and was marginal, it would only work if they touched just right). The symptoms started just like yours, but I would have to try more and more often as time went on. Sometimes it would start on the first try, other times I had to try a dozen times.

I had exact same problem. Turned out to be the starter on my 2914 Accord. Easy to replace. Also had to replace alternator due to lights dimming. See rockauto parts. WVE excellent quality parts manufacturer
