Default 1991 Honda Civic D15b1

Soooo yeah... Last week my honda's head gasket blew. I took it apart was going to get it resurfaced but my friend came by to give it a look. He mentioned that when I put a new head on the block, the compression might be too much for the engine to handle due to everything having 294 thousand miles on it. I'm not sure what to do. Def dont want to throw money at something that is only gonna work for a couple months. I don't know the next step is. My fellow Honda owners, give me some insight on what you'd do if you were in my shoes.
