95 Honda civic ex d16z6 overheating issue!!
So I did the timing belt, seals and water pump as well as the thermostat about a year ago and about a week ago I change all my coolant sensors including the fan switch and for some reason it overheats about 20 mins into the drive once I’m stopped and when I’m on gas it goes down. I also used a funnel tool to burp the system and the coolant is not milky or the oil any ideas on what it could be
It could be air in the cooling system, a junk thermostat (if it isn't a genuine OE one, it IS suspect), or a junk fan switch. Also, have you jumped the fan switch plug to make sure that the fan actually comes on ? The fact that the car cools down while moving suggests either the fan doesn't come on OR you have air trapped in the system.
When it starts to overheat, check to see if you have power at the cooling plug. If you do not, check the cooling fan relay and fuse. If you do have power, you need a cooling fan motor. Sometimes you can tap the motor with something and the fan will come on.
