Default 2012 Civic Sedan LZ - EPS malfunctioning.

Nephew called last night stating his EPS is no longer working.
I don't know if has a light on the dash.
He said he checked the 100 amp fuse it visibly looks good.

I've been reading that bad ABS speed sensor could trigger the EPS to stop working....seems a little weird to me.

Can someone school me a bit on the components
From what I've read we have
  • steering angel sensor (behind steering wheel) - I assume it is part of the clock spring, but am unsure
  • torque sensor - where is that located?
  • motor on the rack - seems like it is replaceable...but highly doubt it is that
  • rack - also doubt it is that
  • EPS module - where is that located?
