2002 Honda Civic EP3 (JDM) - Replace faulty Multiplex Control Unit (MICU)
Hello,
I need a little help. I recently imported a 2002 Honda Civic EP3 from Japan, the car starts but was having a few electrical issues. As I researched, I found the common issue among owners was the MICU:
I'm pretty sure my car does not have an immobilizer or factory alarm. When I swap the original MICU back, the car starts.
Does anyone have a solution? Is there an EEPROM or programming that I need to swap over from the original unit? to the donor unit?
A little help please and thank you!

- No key chime
- No dome light when door is open
- No working AC
- No intermittent wipers
- Parking brake light stays on all the time

if the original is AutoMatic and the donor MiCU is for a manual, then you will see your problem. IIRC there is a method which requires a board level mod to convert the donor.
I don't know it, but its out there.

Hello,
thanks for the reply. Both MICU units are from a manual vehicle, pretty much the same car except one is JDM the other is EU.
If you come across the mod, please let me know.
Thanks!
