how high can a stock d16z6 valvetrain rev up to?
Well the stock rev limiter on my z6 is around 7800 rpm and i have been revving that high everytime i drive the car....so i was wondering how muhc higher the valvetrain can rev up to?
why would u want to rev it higher w/ out any internal mods?
w/ a chipped p28 u could rev up to 9500 rpms, but u better be ready to pick up your rods on the road

I agree on that. You also can get some valve float if you rev it too high. Get internals before you start doing that. If you don't you will regret not doing it.
They are limited for a reason.. That's incredible stress on the engine to exceed redline on stock internals. I don't see a need to push over 7k, the most my old Z6 would go was 7500rpm before you run into problems. I did misshift one day and tached out at around 8500, turned the engine off after an idle period, she never kicked over again. My advice, stick with factory redline and don't go past it.
