Default Changed fuel pump, worked fine, crank no start the next day.

As the title says I changed my fuel pump, worked great, it fired up immediately and didn't have the problems it was having before, things were much smoother shifting than before.

I go to start it the next day, I can hear the pump kicking on so it is at least getting power, but I'm just cranking and cranking and getting nothing, worked great yesterday.

It's not an OEM pump or anything, cheap $40 one from Amazon but still the right fitment for the vehicle, but I'm guessing the most likely answer here is that it just crapped out already.

I've looked under the hood for signs of leaks and have found nothing.

Also is it possible I'm sucking up bad gas? The car was sitting for a few months undergoing repairs with about a half tank of gas, after it was fixed I used up a majority of that gas, and then filled her up with fresh gas, it's now down to just under a quarter tank of the new gas.

I'm just so confused, I test drove the crap out of it yesterday and all issues were fixed.

This is a 2000 civic hx.

Edit: I took off the fuel rail with the injectors attached and primed the pump and it blew one of the injectors out, so I am infact getting pressure up there. So should I be leaning towards bad fuel? I just don't understand how it was working so well the day before. I've gotten it to try to start a couple times but then it just stumbles and dies.

pop the pump out and make sure the hose is indeed connected to the pump, you may be sucking in air

I tried an entirely different pump, clamps are on nice and tight and hose is on all the way, strainer is on nice and tight. I can hear it kick on and prime just like the other one, but still can't even get it to try to start.

I've already verified that the other pump was getting fuel to the rail but I thought maybe it was weak or something, but seems the issue is elsewhere.

I've verified that I have spark and timing is right on the money.

Im pretty confused, I've yet to drain my tank and test the bad gas theory, so maybe I should try that next.

Edit: could the regulator cause this?
