Default 89 civic misfires under heavy load/heavy gas

I have an 89 Honda civic DX hatch D15b2 automatic, so my distributer started to squeel and then and few days go by the bearing seized I Beleive as I was driving is started puttering and died I was able to get it going with a can of seafoam and giving it gas while trying to start it anyhow I waited on new one to come in I got it and install it afterwards the car idles perfect sounds great but then when i rev it hard it misfires crazily sounds like 2 step haha but so I looked into a lot and assumed maybe a fault I couldn’t get warranty unfortunately so I took upon myself and took apart both distributers my old and new and reused my old wire harness and all the internals from the old one Incase there were any faults I pictured everything as I went in my head and in my phone I put it together perfect I didn’t see anything wrong looking and it all went together smoothly thankfully anyhow now my car won’t even start, might I add to before with new distributor I was throwing code 4 and 8 on ecu and now I’m only throwing code 4, wtf is going on pls any insight is help in Knowledge at all

guessing broken wire somewhere in the distributor wiring. Id start checking everything for continuity. Old wires that have been heat cycled over 35 years are very brittle and flexing them will have a tendency to break them easily.

When you re-assembled your distributor, did you make sure that the magnetic pick ups that bolt in the dist. housing had about .020 clearance from the shaft sensor? My guess is that you have too much gap inbetween the sensor and shaft.

Thank you Maxcapacity you were right I took it back apart and noticed there was even some grooves they put in there and I had it slightly off I adjusted them made sure they were aligned put it back together car took a second to start and I was hesitant and then all of a sudden on the 3rd or 4th attempt of trying to start she just cranked right off blew a little smoke for some reason but she started idling fine and the best to me I can floor it and she actually drives and shifts does everything perfect I’m very happy I was starting to think the car had more issues then I thought thank you again Maxcapacity
