vtec controller for a sohc vtec-is it worth it?

Default vtec controller for a sohc vtec-is it worth it?

i think vtec controllers are cool. my hommie has one on his GSr and its pretty tight. the problem is that i have a sohc vtec. is it worth getting?

I wouldn't bother if the car is nearly stock, maybe if there were modifications installed on the car that can cause the air/fuel ratio to fluctuate. If you just want something cool to light up in the car, get a beter cd player with a nice display and a chipped ecu if the modifications call for it.

SHAUNTS said it correctly. You need to have some modification to see some results. I have seen them as well, and they are pretty cool looking. Little lights, electric guages...

It doesnt matter if its SOHC or DOHC, if the car has no need to adjust the factory set air/fuel ratio, then there is no point then for looks like they said..... The only thing you will accomplish is keeping the VTEC on while you shift, by adjusting the fall out RPM, i believe.... Correct me if im wrong.....

i haven't performed the swap yet, but is it possible to keep the nonvtec ecu bcuz its chipped to rev to 8500 and jes get a vtec controller to tell vtec when to engage?
