it occurs when accelerating past 50% half to full load and only around 2500/3000 rpm, it sounds like a loose bolt with a washer rattling on the frequency of the exhaust/engine, i’m sure i have checked all of the bolts on the exhaust and engine.
i know aftermarket 4-2-1 headers may sound hollow but a rattle is new to me.
it also has a short ram ( medium length )
It has a slight valve lash noise, i am going to gap the valves today and see if it silences the sound and all i’m hearing is the valves more prominently because of the short ram.
if someone has experience with these sounds or has an idea i’m all ears, all help is appreciated
the CEL is the Bank 1 Sensor 2 lambda which is not connected because of the headers and exhaust.
It’s my girl’s car, so shes very weary about noises.
i’ll try and attach a video but it might be hard to hear because of the exhaust.

I’ve pulled the covers to look at the timing belt, the bolts that hold the lower front engine mount was over tightened and cracked the end of the metal which chipped and cracked, there was a piece of metal in the timing belt and was rattling inside.
i’m waiting on a belt from our supplier and hoping the rattle is gone after replacing the belt and cleaning everything.
will report with further info.
will this hold or should i replace the engine… again?
You never specified your car info, year/make/model and trim. The heat shields and other parts changed between all of these factors and change advise.
I don't see any oil so if yer gentle, that should hold as it's only for holding the cover on. If you are concerned, clean with brake clean and then use a little jb weld to reinforce the crack.
the rattle i have experienced is gone, most definitely it was the broken piece of metal rattling inside the timing belt and the cover.
i’ve also did the valve clearances and went with:
0.20 intake
0.23 exhaust
this also fixed the valve rattles.
however i’ve changed the timing belt and noticed that the previous owner had it replaced and noticed that the timing was way off, i have set the timing exactly spot on, but now the car stalls after comming to a stop it bogs down to 200rpm almost stalls and picks up back to 400-500rpm whenever i tried to accelerate from a stop the car bogs when giving more than 50% throttle, and if i put it in neutral and turn the throttle body 100% it bogs… and can’t get rpm’s but whenever i slowly turn the throttle it climbs decently.
i’ve taken the connector of off the map sensor and it turns to limp mode, but all the problems are not there anymore, instant 100% throttle lets it climb without bogging, but slowly.
Could the map sensor be the culprit of all my problems?
timing belt changed
timing is spot on
valves adjusted: proper specs
