Valve Adjustment Problem D15 B8
1995 D15 B8
At TDC #1 intake valve and I already backed-off the adjustment as far as it will go but I still can't get my .008 feeler to squeeze in there.
Any idea what's happening here?

Do you have stock or aftermarket valves installed in the head ? Have you recently sent the head over to a machine shop and have a valve job done ? Cutting valve seats too deep will sit the valves "proud" and thus, the valve tip sits up too high making proper valve adjustment difficult... or impossible.
Yesterday I replaced all 8 valve-stem seals. So I figured i should adjust the valves as well. The engine was running perfect before that except I noticed oil on the spark-plugs and in the spark-plug wells. Probably just the spark-plug seals under the valve cover, but I thought I would replace the valve-stem seals as well. Now the #1 intake valve has no adjustment clearance at all.
What could have happened?
If by chance I'm actually on #4 intake compression would that effect the #1 intake clearance if I accidentally have #1 on exhaust stroke rather than compression stroke?
