Default Shift linkage slop

Linkage moves side to side even in gear, replaced the busing and there isn’t any slop in the joint. Before I put the s40 b000 in the car I noticed the pin the shifter connected too did not want to spring back to the middle when I put a screwdriver through the hole where the bi*** pin should go and shook it left to right as if I was “shaking the shifter”. Anyone know what part that little joint on the transmission is and how easy it would be to replace it or another way to fix that slop?

Default Re: Shift linkage slop

That would be a transmission tear down and rebuild. It's all internal with springs and ***** and indents on that rod that the linkage (and biatch pin) connect to.
