I understand that the 2006 Honda Accord V6 engine is non-interference.
Intereference usually means that the piston and valves won’t interfere when timing is compromised between the crank and the camshaft.
I saw a video for another manufacturer on interference engines, where the manufacturer stated that there would be no interference between the piston and valves, but there is a possibility of intereference between intake and exhaust valves when timing is compromised.
Anyone know if the 2006 Honda Accord V6 engine has intereference between intake and exhaust valves if timing is compromised?
Thanks in advance!
Danny

After a bit more research, I noted that the 2006 Honda Accord V6 (J30A5) is a SOHC, where both intake and exhaust valves are controlled by a single overhead camshaft.
With that in mind, it is impossible for the intake and exhaust valves to interfere with each other, when the timing (belt) is compromised.
In a DOHC engine, since intake and exhaust valces are driven off separate cams, it make be possible to have intake to exhaust valve interference.
