Ok so, my automatic transmission on my Honda civic ex 2002 was shot and needed to be replaced. I was working with very little money, and purchased a JDM transmission from JDM Seattle. And yes- I’m aware that it’s a Japanese transmission that’s also a 3 speed. My vehicle is Canadian, & a 4 speed. But from what I concluded from researching, is there’s still a way to install it and be able to use it successfully. Paid $849 including shipping for transmission and was introduced to a “certified Honda mechanic just wanting to help a single mom out”. Turns out the credentials he showed me were in fact not his. Long story short he installed the transmission. The car will drive now- barely. In order to get moving I have to shift it down into 2nd. It’s an automatic. If I try putting it in D, it doesn’t move, likes it’s in neutral. If I shift into D3, it’ll barely move. And every time I shift into 2nd, reverse, or park, a loud single “clunk” noise is made. Also, when it first starts, it’ll start to give out, like it’s dying or losing power, but after 10 minutes, it’s fine. Does ANYBODY have any idea what’s wrong with it?!? Yes I am a girl but I’m extremely intelligent and at this point I’ll fix it my damn self just need some guidance. I have experience with doing majority of upkeep on my car and some part replacement so I’m not completely clueless lol. Seriously anything will help though this is a nightmare and this guy got away with $450 for a car he not only didn’t fix but somehow made worse
