'Key in' alert and 'headlights on' warning has stopped working

'Key in' alert and 'headlights on' warning has stopped working
2002 Honda Civic LX sedan. It used to be if I left the lights on or the key in the transmission, it used to bleep a warning when I opened the door. That has suddenly stopped working. What could be the cause? Thanks.
