AC Issues, 2008 Civic EX
Hello all -
I’ve searched here and on YouTube, but I cannot find a situation similar to mine. In short, the car is not providing a signal for the compressor to run. I’m able to activate the compressor via bi-directional scan tool and using a Power Probe via the relay socket, but it will not send the signal via the car’s computer. I also verified the condenser fan is operational using the Power Probe. Neither fan runs when pressing ‘Max AC’ inside the car.
I found a video on Youtube where a mechanic places a piece of ice directly onto the thermal sensor that’s attached to the compressor. I did this, but still no luck, so I assume the thermal switch is good and that it isn’t preventing the compressor from running.
I added refrigerant to the system, but this didn’t change anything. Car has 180k miles.
Anything else I’m missing or that I should check? Relay was replaced with no improvement, by the way.
