Default WTB: K-Swap Civic

Any K-swapped (preferable coupe) Civics out there around $7-8000? I see them on Facebook, but noone wants to actually respond to sell.

When it costs 10-12K to do the swap somewhere even close to correctly, and do the labor yourself... WHY would you sell the car for 7-8K ???

You'd think someone who has been on hondatech so long would know better than to make that response with no real data. But then again you joined almost 10 years after me, so odds are you're THAT generation. I've already looked at two k swapped cars. One for 6800 for one, 7000 for the other. Have numerous others I've contacted in that range. Now...anyone got anything positive to say?

Any generation Civic? What about the stubby cousin to the Fit? The CR-Z?

CR-Z AWD was made easier with the HR-V. The small SUV cousin. Same rear twist beam axle but with a hump to clear a drive shaft and has rear axle flanges.

The parts are probably there. Cut out the floor where the IMA battery used to live and go crazy.

If you are willing to sell the CR-Z for $7K Ryan, I will send payment right away.

OP, you don't know me... and you can read into my statement however you wish... but what I am saying is that IF the cars are for sale for $7K... there WILL be issues with the swaps, there WILL be cheap parts used, and you WILL likely have to spend significant additional $$$ just to make them reliable. Then again... what do I know... I am just THAT guy on Honda-Tech.

Good Luck.

Oh no, I am not desperate enough to sell at $7k. It will sit until I get around to installing the supercharger at that price.

I have an AWD transmission and dual pump rear end collecting dust as well... That'd probably go nice with the supercharger.

my only thing for wanting a civic is ease of it. I dont know much on the crz but definitely seems more costly to awd

Hey I wasn't trying to be a dick, but someone who signed up for hondatech when I did, I think I know to research before just blabbing out numbers. Maybe it wouldn't have even been a big deal had some decent comments rolled in first, but you were the first one...and no matter how you try and recover you made that statement like I was insane for making this post. Yeah it may cost over 7000 in some cases to kswap...but if you find the right deals it can for sure be done. I didn't even find crazy deals and with the parts list I have it's plenty doable. And they're out there for sale for that low. Plus, most people who modify vehicles realizes that modifications only do so much to a cars value and that some of the higher asking prices are literally waiting on that right person at the right time. The ones who go a bit lower sell their stuff and move on. I agree I'd get more response if I said 10000, but that's not where I want to buy if I don't have to.

Post some pictures.

Rear quarters rust from the inside out. If it's even a rust bubble under the paint the whole quarter is rotting in the seam between the quarter and wheel well.

Congratulations. As long as you are happy with your purchase... it is all good.

Congrats! Looks like a good buy from here. I have seen a few in the $8-10k over the past couple years, but they usually sell fast and are not nearby. Where did you find this one posted?

Im just saying do some searching before making rash statements in someone's post. They're 100% out there.
